Known for its similarity to diamonds, Moissanite is one of the rarest minerals occurring in nature, as it is composed of silicon carbide. Due to rarely finding silicon carbide in nature, most of the Moissanite available today is laboratory-created.

Can I pass off my moissanite as a diamond?
Unlike faux diamonds and other gemstones, Moissanite is also an effective conductor of heat. For this reason, when using a diamond tester that detects thermal conductivity, moissanite will pass as a diamond.
Can i tell the difference between Moissanite and Diamond?

Only a trained eye can tell. Armed only with the naked eye, the best way to see the difference is to have a comparably sized diamond and to compare side-by-side. You'll notice that moissanite and diamonds have different brilliance
